Jason Abalos Doesn't Mind Playing Second Lead

Jason Abalos said that he doesn’t mind playing second lead in Reputasyon since he has had his fair share of exposure on other Kapamilya shows.

While he would certainly welcome bigger projects coming his way, Jason explained that longevity in showbiz is what he’s really aiming for. In fact, the talented actor has never been accused of being particular about his roles from the very start. At the same time, yung craft mo napag-aaralan mo ng mabuti.

Jason, who recently starred in Cinemalaya’s Rakenrol, expressed how happy he is now that more Filipinos have come to appreciate such indie films.

Reyes said the show also helped her prove that she is a real actress.

Though not related by blood, Rayver Cruz and John Lloyd Cruz share the same surname.

Both are young, and are part of the country's small entertainment industry.

But Rayver, known for his dancing skills, wants to take this connection a notch higher -- he aspires to be known as a drama actor, just like Box Office King John Lloyd.

Rayver said he wants to follow in John Lloyd's footsteps. In an interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com, the actor-dancer said he has been a fan of John Lloyd since he was little.

"Alam mo magaling talaga, magaling si Kuya Lloydie," he said.

Cristine Reyes Happy to Show Acting Prowess in Reputasyon

Sultry actress Cristine Reyes is getting tired of doing sexy roles.

In an interview during a press visit for her series "Reputasyon," Reyes said she feels that it's already time to move on.

"Nagsasawa na ako sa sexy roles. Iwan na natin sa iba yon. Gusto ko yung iba naman," Reyes said.

The actress admitted that she's enjoying roles that actually showcase her acting prowess than her physical features.

"Hindi ako nahihirapan sa mga seryosong role. Actually, mas gusto ko siya," she said.

She said that she was really happy when "Reputasyon" was offered to her. In the series, Reyes portrays the character of Agnes delos Santos who will do everything to save her reputation.

She said the show gives her the chance to show that she's a real actress.

Currently, Reyes is also doing a film with Derek Ramsay and Anne Curtis.

Jomari Yllana Gives Advice to Aiko Melendez on Being Kontrabida

Although she is set to work together again with her ex-husband Jomari Yllana in the upcoming kids-oriented Kapamilya series Atom.

Aiko Melendez said she is currently busy focusing her energy on the new afternoon drama series Reputasyon where she plays her first antagonist role.

Aiko, who was married to Jomari Yllana for three years up until 2003, said that she is actually looking forward to seeing how the public will react to their onscreen reunion in Atom. “I’m really, really excited to work with Jomari again kasi siyempre yung team-up namin ni Jom, subok na yan eh. And kahit papaano talaga, everywhere we go, hindi na kami nakaligtas sa mga tuksuhan. Totoo pala may magic pa rin kami ni Jom, I so really want to work with Jomari,” she shared.

The dramatic actress said that Jom has even been giving her acting advice on how to be an effective kontrabida. Aiko is thankful for this because unlike Jom, her role in Reputasyon is her first time to be an anti-hero. “Siya kaya ang acting coach ko! He saw the teaser of Reputasyon and we’re in contact almost everyday lalo na ipinalabas na yung show. He’s very generous naman in sharing with me kung anong dapat gawin,” she added. The 35-year-old Reputasyon star said that because of her good relationship with Jomari, she is not discounting the possibility of a reconciliation in the future. Sabi ko, ‘See, you’re missing a lot! (laughs)’ Kasi every time I see Jomari, like a few days ago, he was just in the house and he keeps on telling me, ‘Papayat ka ng papayat ah. Parang yan yung dati nung panahon na tayo, promise!’ So andun pa rin yun closeness. Hindi naman maaalis yun,” she explained.

Aiko said that despite the fact that they did not end up together, it does not mean they don’t flirt with each other anymore. For Aiko, having a close relationship with fathers of her children is important to her. “Siguro kasi it’s different when you had something before and when you see Andrei, oh ‘di ba carbon copy ng tatay so yung remembrance is forever nandiyan. Sobrang open.

After a very public breakup with Bulacan Mayor Patrick Menesis this year, Aiko said she is happy enjoying her current singlehood along with her two children, Andrei and Martina. “I can say I’m better. So much better. I’ve been given so much blessings lately. Aside from the fact that I have two beautiful children who inspire me a lot, I’ve realized many things lately na hindi lang naman dapat ang love life ang magpapasaya sa isang tao. There’s so many reasons why I have to be happy. I have no right to complain, life is beautiful still,” she shared.

Jill Yulo Returns to ABS-CBN Via Reputasyon

Currently playing the role of Nina Delos Santos, the younger sister of Cristine Reyes’s character in the afternoon romance drama Reputasyon, Jill Yulo said it was an unexpected blessing for her to be offered a choice role after being away from the limelight for some time. Jill was last seen in the 2007 teleserye Maria Flordeluna. Sobrang heart-melting. Binigyan pa rin nila ako ng chance so meron pa rin silang tiwala sa akin na kaya ko ito,” she shared with Push.com.ph.

In the series, Jill’s character decides to help out her parents in saving money so her sister can graduate first and finally fulfill her dream of going to school in Manila.

The pretty mestiza also admitted that getting the chance to work with veteran actors in the cast was also something she really looked forward to. “The best sila, wala akong mahihiling pa. Sobrang bait nila.

A self-confessed longtime fan of Aiko, Jill said she was so affected when she first met her idol on their first taping day. “Sobrang mahiyain akong tao.

The aspiring dramatic actress also shared that since they started working together on Reputasyon, she and Aiko have also become even more connected because of the social messaging site Twitter. “After naming magkakilala, tinweet nya ako agad. Sabi niya, ‘Napakagandang bata!’ Wala na akong mahihiling pa,” she admitted.

Cristine Reyes Disappointed for Not Being on Primetime?

“I worked with her in Eva Fonda at masaya ako sa naging trabaho niya.

Reputasyon Banners Kapamilya Gold

What if your reputation was put on the line because of a false accusation and a web of lies and deceit? ABS-CBN takes drama on a different level via “Reputasyon” which started airing last Monday (July 11).

Part of ABS-CBN’s Kapamilya Gold, “Reputasyon” is led by Cristine Reyes.

As she embarks on a new role that promises to be her most challenging by far, Cristine is ready to put her reputation on the line for her new show.

Cristine plays the role of Agnes De Los Santos, a simple woman with big dreams for her family. However, an event changes her life in ways she did not imagine or dream of.

Also starring in the drama with Cristine is her real-life boyfriend, Rayver Cruz.

Jason Abalos completes “Reputasyon’s” love triangle as Boyet. Jason also could not help but express happiness over his new project and hopes for its success.

This is also the comeback project of Aiko Melendez, who took a hiatus from the television scene for some time. Aiko plays the antagonist this time, a role which will definitely show why she’s a multi-awarded actress.

An impressive array of actors further bring brilliance to the teleserye-- Jaclyn Jose, Lito Pimentel, Emilio Garcia, Deborah Sun, Jill Yulo, Andre Garcia, John James Uy plus acclaimed directors/actors Laurice Guillen and Celso Ad Castillo complete the cast.

Under the direction of Jeffrey Jeturian and Mervyn Brondial, “Reputasyon” airs weekdays after “Happy Yippee Yehey” on ABS-CBN. For more updates, log on to www.abs-cbn.com or follow abscbndotcom on Twitter.

Aiko Melendez on Working With Cristine Reyes

What Aiko Melendez admires most about her Reputasyon co-star Cristine Reyes is that she is true to herself. “Hindi siya mahirap pakisamahan, what you see is what you get,” Aiko described Cristine. She continued that if Cristine is sad, she just remains quiet in one corner. Aiko continued that she appreciates Cristine’s personality because unlike other celebrities, Cristine’s attitude makes her easy to get along with.

Reputasyon also serves as Aiko’s comeback project after taking a break from the limelight. ‘Yung role ko dito is something different and something na talagang excited akong gawin dahil mapaglalaruan ko siya in terms of acting. I play the role of Catherine Delamayor.

As early as now the actress is already getting good reviews for her performance as seen in the teleserye’s trailer. “’Yun ang maganda pag matagal kang nawala tapos maganda pa ‘yung role mo. Maganda pa ‘yung mga artistang makakasama mo, so nae-excite ka nadadala lahat,” she explained.

Despite feeling the pressure, Aiko is still confident about their project because all of the people behind this teleserye really worked hard to come up with a quality program. “Hindi lang casting ang magaling the script itself and the direction, everything was really prepared and talagang tailored sa bawat isa sa amin kaya excited ako.”

Aiko will be the antagonist in the series but added that there is also depth in her character. “Meron siyang pinanggagalingan.

Jason Abalos on Reputasyon

Jason Abalos said that he does not feel uncomfortable being the third wheel in the team up of real-life couple Cristine Reyes and Rayver Cruz in the upcoming teleserye, Reputasyon, which will premiere on July 11.

He continued that he is actually good friends with Rayver so he is confident that it won’t be a problem to the latter that he will be the other leading man of Cristine. In a separate interview, Rayver described Jason being “like a brother” to him.

This is not the first time that Jason will be paired up with Cristine because they already teamed up in the 2008 teleserye, Eva Fonda. In Reputasyon, Jason will portray Boyet, the guy who will help the family of Cristine’s character to regain their reputation after losing their family’s honor due to a turn of events.

Jason explained that he was glad when he found out that he was going to be working again with Cristine. Apart from the actress, Jason has already worked with his other co-stars so taping is a breeze. “Di na ko ganun kabago sa showbiz [so] karamihan sa kanila nakatrabaho ko na rin so masaya masayang kasama,” he said. Also starring in Reputasyon are Aiko Melendez, Jaclyn Jose, Lito Legaspi, and a lot more.

Jason also said that Cristine has gotten better as an actress compared to how she was in Eva Fonda. “Iba siya. Sobrang galing niya ngayon kumbaga dito sa Reputasyon ipanlalaban niya ‘yung acting, ang galing talaga.”

Cristine Reyes on Reputasyon

Cristine Reyes is excited about her teleserye Reputasyon because of the chance to work with brilliant actors such as Jaclyn Jose, Lito Pimentel, Aiko Melendez, and Jason Abalos. Award-winning director Laurice Guillen will direct the teleserye. In the soap series, Cristine will play the role of Agnes de los Santos, which she describes as “simpleng tao, kolehiyala at pangarap niyang maging guro katulad ng kanyang ina (Jaclyn), [at ang] tatay (Lito) niya isang magsasaka.”

With highly-acclaimed actors for co-stars, Cristine related that she needs to keep herself on her toes. She added that viewers should watch out for the confrontation scenes between her and Aiko, who plays the antagonist. She continued that there are also intense confrontation scenes between Jaclyn and Aiko.

Reputasyon is also the project that will launch her and real-life boyfriend Rayver Cruz as a love team. They worked before in Kristine Series but they were not yet together at that time. More than worrying about how viewers would react to their first team-up, Cristine is more excited about the quality of their project. “Well nung nabasa ko naman ‘yung script I’m sure magugustuhan ito ng mga manonood dahil from intense acting to kilig-kiligan, alam mo ‘yung tipo ng mga Pinoy? So nasa panlasa ito ng mga Pinoy at magugustuhan nila ito,” she assured.

She also said that having her boyfriend as her leading man has a lot of advantages. Masaya. Sa Reputasyon lang kami halos nagkikita.”

Aside from the teleserye, Cristine is also shooting for her next film with Derek Ramsay and Anne Curtis. When it comes to billing, the sexy actress said that she has no problem even if her name will come last. ‘Di big deal sa akin ‘yon,” she said and continued that Anne and Derek’s names deserve to come before hers.

Aiko Melendez on Reputasyon

Aiko Melendez will make her TV comeback via the upcoming teleserye Reputasyon, which will also star Cristine Reyes, Rayver Cruz, and Jason Abalos. The actress added that she plans to keep herself busy with work so she can move on from her failed relationship with Bulacan Mayor Patrick Meneses. She added that she is setting aside her love life for the meantime.

“When you’re moving on there’s so much blessings,” she said. “I’m so busy with work and ngayon ko napagtutuunan uli na alagaan ang sarili ko and siguro I can say after ‘yung bagyong dumating sa akin, ang good riddance ay be busy and be beautiful.

“Hindi ako ‘yung tipo ng tao na kahit hindi maganda ang kinahinatnan nito eh magdu–dwell ako on being negative. I want to be positive and ‘yun ang gusto kong pagtuunan [ng pansin],” she explained.

She added that her past experiences also taught her to deal with breakups better.

Aiko also said that she welcomes suitors but it might take some time before she decides to be in another commitment.

Prior to doing Reputasyon, Aiko was supposed to make a teleserye first with former partner Jomari Yllana but the project was called off. “It’s management’s decision na unahin ko muna ang Reputasyon, pero I’m bound to do the project with Jomari. I think after Reputasyon ‘yun na ‘yung isusunod,” she said.

Aiko admitted that she is already excited about working with Jomari. As a matter of fact, the actress said that the actor is her acting coach for Reputasyon.

Aiko became playful when she seemed to suggest that she and Jomari might end up together in the end since they are both single. “Ako naniniwala na ang special feelings will always be there, it could be rekindled or it could be in a different level. I can say right now, my feelings for Joms will always be special because tatay siya ng anak ko and it will remain for the rest of our lives. Magkaroon man siya ng love life, ako, may soft spot ‘yan lagi sa akin.”

Rayver Cruz Defends Cristine Reyes' Supposed Temper on the Set of Reputasyon

Cristine Reyes said that all is well between her and the staff member of her teleserye, Reputasyon with whom she had a tiff. Prior to this, the actress expressed her anger with the said production staff member via Twitter and said that people should do their job right by working properly and having the presence of mind. In an interview last Sunday, Cristine said she did not want to go into details regarding the issue and just addressed the matter, “Okay na ‘yon.”

However, boyfriend Rayver Cruz, who is also her leading man in Reputasyon provided more specific details. He said that he also listened to the side of the production staff member to really understand the matter. In defense of his girlfriend, Rayver said, “Kilala ko naman si AA (Cristine’s nickname) very honest, very strong, and hindi naman siguro siya gagawa ng ganung reaksyon kung wala siyang basehan.”

The issue started when Ogie Diaz made a blind item on Entertainment Live about an actress who allegedly gets temperamental when she is not in the mood during her taping. A few minutes after the blind item, Cristine posted her reactions on her Twitter and defended that showbiz insiders should find out what really happened. The sexy actress tweeted that she expressed her disappointment by slamming the door, and which did not go unnoticed by the production people. She made other tweets and confessed about her behavior because her co-workers were not doing their job well.

Rayver continued that the issue has been addressed and that the misunderstanding has been settled. “Ayos na, tsaka settled na ‘yon. May meeting kami for the promo and isiningit lang ang topic na ‘yon sa meeting pero settled naman agad, di naman big problem,” said Rayver.

On a lighter note, Cristine and Rayver agree that working with your real-life partner is advantageous. “Kasi sa taping ‘yung long hours of waiting naka-tengga ka lang, walang ginagawa, nakatitig ka lang sa ceiling. So mas maganda pag meron kang kasama ‘di ba?” Rayver added that having Cristine as a co-star makes him inspired to go to work.

Cristine Reyes Happy for her Leading Men in Reputasyon

Excited akong maka-work ulit si Jason.
