John Lloyd Cruz and Angel Locsin Reveal Why They are Excited to Work on Their Upcoming Movie

John Lloyd Cruz and Angel Locsin are very eager to begin work on their upcoming movie under Star Cinema. For Angel, the movie project is a dream come true because she has been very vocal about wanting to shoot a movie with Lloydy. “Excited ako talaga, at si Lloydy, gaya ng sinasabi ko dati, siya talaga sa tingin ko ang pinakamagaling na aktor sa batch namin,” explained Angel. “Iba kasi ang discipline ‘pag pelikula, eh.”

Another thing that makes the actress excited about the movie is the fact that the project is entirely different from the previous teleserye they did, Imortal. “Sinasabi ko kay Lloydy sana magkaroon kami ng pelikula na hindi naman kami nagsusuntukan, hindi naman kami nagkakagatan. Parang sa Imortal, ‘di ba?” Angel is also looking forward to working together with the block-buster director Cathy Garcia Molina.

Without going into details, John Lloyd said that the movie will be a romantic drama and it’s something new that they want to offer to their followers. “Kahit lagi naming sinasabi kaming mga artista ‘pag gumagawa ng pelikula, we want to offer something different, something new, talagang totoo naman. That’s always the intention. Sana itong [project] kung mapag-uusapan ‘yung konsepto and ‘yung intention namin na ma-achieve namin ‘yung konsepto, we can definitely offer something different.”

Lloydy said that he is still excited about working with Angel because it will still be a new experience for them. “Basically the whole journey of doing this film kasi kakaiba siya dun sa Imortal, so panibagong mundo na naman ‘yung papasukin namin. Iba ‘yung pelikula. Iba ‘yung nature, iba ‘yung environment.”

Rayver Cruz Wants to Follow John Lloyd Cruz's Footsteps

Though not related by blood, Rayver Cruz and John Lloyd Cruz share the same surname.

Both are young, and are part of the country's small entertainment industry.

But Rayver, known for his dancing skills, wants to take this connection a notch higher -- he aspires to be known as a drama actor, just like Box Office King John Lloyd.

"Oo naman, lahat sa amin gusto 'yung serious role. Kaya nga pinasok namin ito para balang araw ma-achieve namin 'yung maging successful actor," Rayver said.

"Like John Lloyd Cruz, ang hirap, diba? Pero malay mo? Mangangarap na lang eh di dapat 'yung solid na."

Rayver said he wants to follow in John Lloyd's footsteps. In an interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com, the actor-dancer said he has been a fan of John Lloyd since he was little.

"Alam mo magaling talaga, magaling si Kuya Lloydie," he said.

Currently, Rayver is part of ABS-CBN's hit afternoon series "Reputasyon" with his real-life sweetheart Cristine Reyes.

He said he is happy that "Reputasyon" is receiving good reviews partly because of his performance in the show.

Bea Alonzo Missed Being Paired With John Lloyd Cruz

After being reunited with John Lloyd Cruz on the big screen in last year’s Star Cinema hit Miss You Like Crazy, Bea Alonzo admitted that she is happy there is still a clamor for her to play opposite her first leading man in showbiz. It’s been over nine years since they were first paired together in the 2002 teleserye Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay.

Bea said their fans will have to wait til next year to see them together again. “2012 pa balik-tambalan namin. Alam ko may existing na material para sa amin pero hindi ko lang alam kung itutuloy yun. Basta yung next na gagawing project mas mature na kaysa sa One More Chance at Miss You Like Crazy. Nakakatuwa na may nagsasabi pa rin ng gusto nila kami makitang magkasama, na nag-a-acknowledge na kami pa rin yung magka-love team. Pero parang si John Lloyd naman, kahit kanino mo na itambal ngayon mag-wo-work eh. Natutuwa ako para sa kanya, na naabot niya yung estado na ganun at natutuwa ako na kasama ako sa journey niya. Sana ako din may makatambal din ako na magwo-work,” she shared.

Bea, who has been paired with a variety of leading men from the likes of Vic Sotto to Robin Padilla, said she definitely feels very lucky with the way her career is going. The Fil-Brit actress also gave credit to John Lloyd for her popularity. “Feeling ko kung hindi rin narating nung love team namin kung ano yung narating noon, hindi rin kami mapupunta sa individual careers namin ngayon. Parang ang laki-laking tulong sa kung nasaan man ako ngayon, si John Lloyd na inaakay niya ako dun sa kung nasaan man ako ngayon,” she admitted.

The 23-year-old Guns and Roses star also admitted that she also misses working with her original love team partner. “Nami-miss ko siyang katrabaho. Kasi sobrang galing niya eh. Although ngayon, bago ko siya makatrabaho ulit, gusto ko magbabaon muna ako kung ano natutunan ko kay Robin, kay Bossing, ganyan. Para pag nakatrabaho ko na siya, meron akong bagong mabibigay. Kasi alam ko madami siyang bago.may mga pasabog siya kapag nakapagtrabaho na kaming dalawa. Nakakahiya naman kung wala akong pasabog. Kailangan lume-level up at nag-ma-mature,” she said.

Bea said she and John Lloyd have always likened their team-up to that of Vilma Santos and Christopher De Leon, who starred together in over 22 movies during their showbiz career. “Parang si Ate Vi at si Tito Boyet, yung hindi sila tapos kahit hindi sila itambal magwo-work naman. Tapos pag nag-wo-work sila together, iba pa rin. Iba yung chemistry nilang dalawa. Sila yung idol namin pagdating sa ganun,” she said.

John Lloyd Cruz and Toni Gonzaga Hailed as SM Cinema's 2010 Box Office King and Queen

John Lloyd Cruz and Toni Gonzaga have been recognized by SM Cinema as the Box-Office King and Queen for 2010 for their movie “My Amnesia Girl.”

Cruz and Gonzaga won the title because their movie “My Amnesia Girl” was the highest grossing Pinoy film in 2010 based on data collected from all SM Cinema’s 230 theaters in 40 branches nationwide.

SM’s Box-Office King and Queen winners differ from the same recognition being bestowed by Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation simply because they base their tally from the films’ box-office receipts from January 1 to December 31.

Guillermo’s basis include the MMFF films which runs on the last week of the year until the first week of the next year. Their box-office Kings and Queen for 2010 are Bong Revilla and Vic Sotto (tied for “Si Agimat at Si Enteng Kabisote), and Ai Ai delas Alas (for “Ang Tanging Ina Mo, Last Na ‘To”), respectively.

John Lloyd Cruz Keeps Mum About Upcoming Movie

Director Cathy Garcia-Molina reveals that she will be directing the upcoming film of John Lloyd Cruz and Angel Locsin with a target play date sometime in November. “Magstorycon kami pagbalik ni Angel galing Abu Dhabi. Wala pang working title and hindi ko pa pwedeng sabihin yung details. But it’s going to be a light drama na parang One More Chance ang dating,” said Direk Cathy who has done several box office hits with John Lloyd including My Amnesia Girl, You Changed My Life, and A Very Special Love among others.

But when we caught up with John Lloyd at a recent press con, he refused to talk about his next movie project and the leading lady whom he’ll be working with since nothing has been finalized yet. “Ang alam ko movie muna bago TV. Pero ayoko muna mag-disclose ng mga possible leading ladies kasi hindi ko alam kung kanino matutuloy. Ayoko muna magsalita kasi ilang beses ako nagsabi na may movie na ganito... Tapos nakarating sa akin na sumasama ang loob ng ibang fans kapag hindi natutuloy. So ayoko mangyari ulit yun. Siguro kapag nagsyu-shooting na saka ako makakapagbigay ng final answer.”

One thing is for sure though, John Lloyd has his hands full with all the movies lined up for him, including his much-awaited projects with Sarah Geronimo, Toni Gonzaga, and Bea Alonzo. On his part, he feels privileged to be paired with such talented actresses of the Kapamilya network. “I realized wala akong kailangan piliin [dahil in one way or another magkakasama rin naman kaming lahat]. Miss na miss ko ng makatrabaho si Bea since more than a year na mula nung ginawa namin yung Miss You Like Crazy. My Amnesia Girl Part 2 would be just as exciting. Pero siguro si Angel pinakamalapit dahil after Imortal pwede kami gumawa ng movie. Basta ako, kahit saan ako. I think mas importante yung material at this point.”

John Lloyd Cruz on PSBank Debit MasterCard

Celebrities are a dime a dozen nowadays. Some become instant stars but fade away just as easily. Some establish a solid career not only because of sheer talent but because of their willingness to learn and acquire a different kind of versatility that’s possessed by just a few.

Take John Lloyd Cruz, for instance. He started as one of the many teen stars of Tabing Ilog, a sleeper hit of a TV program in the late ‘90s. Even then, there was already a certain seriousness and sensitivity in his acting. Through the years, he allowed himself to be honed into the complete package: actor of award-winning dramatic films and rom-com box-office hits, TV host, idol not only here but abroad, and even part of the funny dancing group Kanto Boys. Indeed, a perfect example of versatility.

Now, if John Lloyd was an ATM card, then that card had better carry the same qualities that John Lloyd possesses. This card should be useful not only for regular ATM transactions but should also have a value-added feature which clients should find very useful. It should be famous enough to be recognized and accepted in any part of the world and deliver quality every time.

Enter this new, better and powered-up ATM card. PSBank, a member of the Metrobank Group, introduces the PSBank Debit MasterCard which offers the convenience of cashless purchases and regular ATM transactions all in one card.

You don’t have to worry about bringing lots of cash or looking around for the nearest ATM to withdraw the amount you need. Simply present your PSBank Debit MasterCard in stores and restaurants that carry the MasterCard logo to pay. You can even use this for regular ATM transactions such as withdrawals, bills payment or account inquiries.

“We wanted to offer a power-packed version of our ATM card that would spell convenience, security and ease of transaction for our clients anywhere they may be. And we couldn’t think of a celebrity that best embodies all these but John Lloyd,“ PSBank Business Development Division Head Melissa Tong said.

“Just like John Lloyd, PSBank Debit MasterCard is really versatile, thanks to our partnership with MasterCard which opens wide its use and reach so that clients can now bring the PSBank Debit MasterCard - and nothing else - when they go out. It’s still a regular ATM card because you can still withdraw, pay your bills and check your account but you can also now use it for cashless transactions in restaurants and shops. Clients can get their own card in 30 minutes or less and immediately enjoy all these services,” Ms. Tong added.

The PSBank Debit MasterCard can be used in over 30.2 million MasterCard-affiliated merchants worldwide. It can also be used to withdraw from any BancNet, ExpressNet and Megalink ATMs locally and 1.6 million MasterCard or Maestro-Cirrus ATMs in over 210 countries. To help you monitor your finances and your budget, you can also view your account statement for your last five transactions, get your available account balance, pay your bills, transfer funds or change your PIN in over 400 PSBank ATMs nationwide.

It’s true what they say. If this card were a person, he’d probably be John Lloyd: famous, well-known and as local showbiz parlance says, hanep and astig! Get your own PSBank Debit MasterCard now by opening a PSBank ATM Savings Account, PSBank Passbook with ATM, PSBank Overseas Filipino Savings Account or PSBank Premium Checking Account at any PSBank branch.

For inquiries, call PSBank Customer Service at (632) 845-8888 anytime, any day or visit any of 187 PSBank branches nationwide.

Sarah Geronimo Misses Working With John Lloyd Cruz

Sarah Geronimo has made a stand on persistent reports that she is transferring to another TV network once her contract ends with ABS-CBN: she is not moving!

Sarah let out a scream as ABS-CBN's TV Patrol posed the question to her at rehearsals for her "What Love is" concert tour with Martin Nievera in New Manila.

"Please Lord, no! Ayoko! Masarap ang pakiramdam kung gusto ka sa Kapamilya Network, pero kung ayaw na nila, malulungkot ako...pero ako, ayokong umalis."

Sarah is managed by Vic del Rosario of Viva Entertainment, which also manages other stars now under the wings of GMA-7 and TV5.

It was previously rumored that del Rosario was moving the "Pop Princess" to TV5.

The singer also lamented the spate of intrigues comparing her with "Star Power" singing champion Angeline Quinto.

Enough, she said.

"Magkaibigan kami ni Angeline, nuon pa when we were schoolmates, nakakahiya sa kanya. Naiintindihan ko naman ang showbiz, yung mga followers na pinag-aaway kami pero sana huwag nang gumamit ng masasakit na salita. Ayaw ni Lord ng ganyan!"

Sarah is celebrating her 23rd birthday on July 2. She said her only wish now is personal growth and maturity as a professional artist.

After her break-up with Rayver Cruz, matters of the heart is the least of her priority.

"Ang focus ko sa Diyos and family ko. Yung love, darating din yan at the right time! Happy naman ako ngayon!"

One project she's really head over heels excited with is her planned third movie with John Lloyd Cruz.

"Yes, I've missed him. He's special to me as he is to a lot of people, magaling na aktor at mabuting kaibigan."

The movie's working title is "It Takes a Man and a Woman."

John Lloyd Cruz to Concentrate on Doing Films

After the successful run of his fantaserye "Imortal," actor John Lloyd Cruz announced that he will be taking a break from doing teleseryes.

Cruz said it's not bad news, though, since he will be devoting most of his time to doing movies.

"Wala pang series. Alam ko kasi mauuna ang pelikula," Cruz said during a press conference in Makati for Head and Shoulders, his newest endorsement.

The actor refused to give more details about his film projects, stressing that he wants to surprise his fans.

"Meantime siguro, it's best na huwag na munang magbigay ng kahit anong update kasi baga ma-mislead ang ibang tao. Siguro kung mayroong gustong malaman, sa Star Cinema na lang itanong," Cruz added.

Report has it that Cruz, who just turned 28 last June 24, will be doing a movie again with Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo.

Cruz might also do a film with his "Imortal" leading lady Angel Locsin.
