Angelica Panganiban Goes Green in Cosmo August 2011 Issue

Some celebs rely on heavy makeup and good lighting to make themselves look flawless on screen, but Angelica Panganiban is one of the special ones who possess natural beauty--with or without much primping. She just looks great in anything.

When the 24-year-old actress showed up at 55 Events Place for her Cosmo cover shoot, we saw firsthand exactly why she is the latest beauty muse of some of the country's biggest brands--particularly for their natural line.

Angelica arrived looking fresh and radiant on the set of the shoot in her casual clothing--which coincidentally fit the color scheme of the shoot. As associate art director Paula Pangan explains, "For our August cover, our theme is natural beauty, so we chose green as our main element."

Associate fashion editor Happy Lopez interpreted this theme with fun, fresh, and flirty outfits that she pulled out especially for Angelica's shoot. Happy says, "We picked a lot of soft, feminine, flowy dresses...We have short dresses and long dresses, gowns that are asymmetrical, and sweetheart and tube cuts [which suit Angelica's curvy form]."

The wide variety of clothing styles called for an equally impressive stock of accessories to match the outfits. In fact, Happy brought along 17 pairs of colorful shoes—from killer heels to funky platforms—and a ton of chic accessories to enhance the beauty of the dresses!

Launch the gallery to see which outfits made the cut, as well as the rest of the wardrobe options that were considered for the shoot. Angelica Panganiban Happy With Her Only One Stint, Banana Split

After playing bida-kontrabida in Rubi, Angelica Panganiban is slated to do a new teleserye this year entitled Muling Buksan Ang Puso together with Gretchen Barretto and KC Concepcion. But since they’ve yet to start production on the show, the versatile actress encourages her fans to watch her in Banana Split for the meantime. “Hindi naman nila ako kailangan ma-miss kasi nasa Banana Split ako—daily yun sa hapon tsaka Saturday night. Kung gusto talaga ako mapanood ng tao, pwede naman nilang panoorin yun. Hindi muna ako magte-teleserye. Masaya ako sa ginagawa ko ngayon,” Angelica said.

Angelica is very proud of the fact that Banana Split has been getting a lot of positive feedback ever since they reformatted their Saturday night episodes into a variety concert show. Instead of their usual gags and sketches, the cast members also impersonate their favorite Hollywood and local artists among others. “Sobra kaming masaya sa kinalabasan ng Banana Split Extra Scoop. Nung una kinakabahan kami kung kakagatin siya ng tao, pero ‘di kami nagkamali. Lahat kami binigay namin yung 100 percent namin. Hindi lang kami artista, part din kami ng creation ng show. Tsaka mahal na mahal namin ang isa’t isa kaya maganda ang turnout.”

When asked about her movie projects, Angelica shared that she’s still busy shooting her film with Piolo Pascual. “Okay naman siya. Nagsyu-shooting kami almost everyday. Kaya kanina bagsak ako sa pagod dahil ninamnam ko yung mga nanakaw na tulog sa akin. Next year pa yung Here Comes The Bride part two na dinirek ni Chris Martinez. Kakatapos lang kasi nung Babae Sa Septik Tank, siya ang nagsulat nun so medyo busy pa siya. Tapos may gagawin pa siya for the film fest so next year na yung Here Comes The Bride. Nagkausap kami nung nasa CCP (Cultural Center of The Philippines) ako last week. Hopefully yung mga plan at tsikahan namin maging totoo,” she added.

Derek Ramsay Already Married

Amid all the blessings coming his way, actor Derek Ramsay now faces another controversy involving his relationship with actress Angelica Panganiban.

ABS-CBN News was able to get hold of a marriage contract from the National Statistics Office (NSO) showing that "Derek Arthur Ramsay" got married to a 21-year-old "Mary Christine Jolly" last April 3, 2002.

Mayor Reinaldo Castro allegedly wed the two at his office in Balagtas, Bulacan around 3 p.m.

The marriage contract states that Jolly is an Indian-Filipino born in Las PiƱas.

Two witnesses signed the marriage contract.

ABS-CBN News sought the help of a family lawyer assess the contract.

According to Atty. Jean Ferry, the marriage is still considered legal because the contract does not contain any annotation of nullification.

An annotation of nullification would mean that a marriage is null and void.

“If the certificate of marriage has no annotation that is required, then on its face, the marriage is still subsisting and still valid...To other persons, he is still married,” Ferry said.

Legal options mulled

In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News on Wednesday, both Ramsay and Panganiban bravely addressed the controversy.

“My lawyers are taking care of the various legal options that we have and handle the issue. It’s being taken care of as we speak,” said Ramsay.

Ramsay revealed he considers this issue personal and sensitive. He, however, clarified that this one is no different from the previous intrigues he and Panganiban have had to face.

“This is a very personal matter which I'll share with everyone... For me, just like all the other intrigues that happen every month, I'll focus on work, and for those who have given support, I want to say thank you and to let you know that she (Angelica) stands by me and our relationship is very strong,” Ramsay said..

“Siyempre, gusto naming harapin na masaya, ‘di ba? So tina-try namin ang best namin na labanan ito, na okay kami,” Panganiban said.

Both Ramsay and Panganiban have decided to maintain a positive outlook in life despite the negative issues they have had to confront.

Meanwhile, the alleged wife of Ramsay is keeping mum and is reported to be living outside the Philippines.

Angelica Panganiban, KC Concepcion and Gretchen Barretto Gear Up for Upcoming Teleserye

Actresses Angelica Panganiban, KC Concepcion and Gretchen Barretto attended an acting workshop together for ABS-CBN's upcoming series "Muling Buksan ang Puso."

In an interview with "Showbiz News Ngayon", the actresses shared their workshop experience under award-winning director Laurice Guillen.

"Exciting kasi marami kaming nalalaman sa isa't isa. Step-by-step nakikilala mo sila ng deeper," Panganiban said.

"Exhausting 'yong workshop. Medyo nahirapan. The good thing is nagkakakilanlan na kami. I think we are ready to work," Barretto said.

Concepcion shared: "This is it! Nararamdaman na namin na talagang may project kami together kasi matagal na kaming naghihintay."

The series will be directed by Ruel Naval, one of the directors of the defunct top-rating series "Magkaribal."

Asked if people will see them compete in the series on the fashion and acting front, Barretto replied:

"Kung patalbugan, malalaman niyo na lang yon. Si Angelica pagdating niya sa set hindi na siya si Angelica. Iba na ang character na ipo-portray niya. Iba na din ako. Iba na din si KC doon. Kung mag-away kami sa teleserye, 'yon kami pagdating sa set."

For Panganiban, she stressed that they will just do their job as actresses. She also added that it would be easy to do the series if they will work hand-in-hand.

"Masarap magtrabaho kung hindi kayo naghihilaan pababa, at doon magwo-work 'yon. Doon makikita ng tao kung paano magiging maganda ang teleserye na pinapanood nila," Panganiban said.

Also part of "Muling Buksan ang Puso" are actors Luis Manzano, Sam Milby and Zanjoe Marudo.
