Wal-Mart Goes LEDs

Wal-Mart is going to use with Cree’s LRP-38, a PAR38 style LED lamp in 650 of Its Stores in the first year. The LED bulb is designed to last 50,000 hours and consume 82 percent less energy than the 70-watt ceramic metal halide bulbs it replaces.

It was a signed deal between Cree and Wal-Mart on 4 Nov.

Though we do not have any figure of the value of this deal for Cree, or exactly how many lights Wal-Mart bought. This move has an implication for the LED Lighting industry and Cree Market position in the USA.
