Toshiba CELL LED Regaza 3D 55X1000H launches a Superb Full LED Technology for LCD TV
The new Toshiba Eco Style LED TV Cell Regza Rocks the Market.
I am a fan for Toshiba as they are used to be classified as second Tier technology on TV in the pas twenty year, but in fact Toshiba has a shocking Technology that they are trying to create 2nd wave for Japanese Invasion into this LED TV Market.
Regza LED Screen have amazing 3,072 LED Back light unit. It could reach a world class lighting intensity of 1,000cd/ms.
They panelize the screen into 512 sections with installation of 6 LEDs in each region.
Each Region can be individual adjust for the required intensity. The DCR (Dynamic Contrast Ratio) can reach a stunning level of 9,000,000.
3D Ultra Resolution technology and ClearScan 400 scanning method reducing flickers into un-observable level by human eyes for fast moving objects.
Powerful 40W Audio Output.. Metal Framing casing for the whole TV.
Whilst most of the people are trying to reduce the number of LED on each of the TV, Toshiba is moving against the stream with 3 thousands over LED for each of the screen.
High technology, slim, powerful Audio and Visual Performance from Toshiba TV. Seeing is believing; I think you had better consider this when you buy your next New technology TV…

LED TV Market will Revive in Q4 2010?
Let’s look for the big LED players for their recent product plan after market of Backlight has been slowing down.
CLSA
According to CLSA Asia-Pacific Markets data. By end 2011, total 262M sets of LCD TV would be produced in 2011, which is more 23% as of 2010’s 164M sets. They expect that the LCD sales penetration will be widened when the ASP further being suppressed when Panel Price drops!
LGE
LGE forecasts LG Electronics will increase 2011 LED TV Sales by 40% following the drop of ASP. They will push 35M LCD TV units in 2011 which is 40% more that the target of 25M units sales in 2010. On the other hand, Plasma TV sales will be pushed from 29M to 40M unit in 2011.
LED TV is about 20% of Total TV shipment in 2010. And this number will be increased to 60% in 2011 according to LGE studies.According to the home entertainment senior executives, LGE would push the sales in last 2H or 2010 and not too difficult at all to achieve the target sales of 40M sets in 2010. They will launch out high end TV such as 8mm LED TV, 3D TV and Smart TV. They may forecast that 1/3 of the TV would be SmartTV!
Samsung
Samsung has a special business culture and history, whenever there is crisis like scenario, they will do all kind of risk management and invest in such a low season for the next growth. Same case for SmartTV during their recent consortium presented by Chief of Samsung Electronics. LGE and Samsung is always striving for their best effort to keep them ahead the other in the sales races. LGE is the biggest rival in the commercial sector, if LGE will push out 40M TV in 2011, I do think that Samsung will not lose his monarch of sales to LGE… Definitely, they are working all around the groups with more new product launch to maintain the No. 1 Sales Position.
Skyworth
7th Sept, Mr. Zhang Xue Bin, Executive Chairman and CEO of Skyworth, China's 4th Largest LCD TV makers told to the Hong Kong media and investors that during the April-May LCD TV old stock purging action by selling at a low price. After World Club came to an end we had slash of the TV sales unless there is new stimulus campaign. Skyworth's CFO said that In China, there are approximately 6M sets of LCD TV what had been servicing for 5-6 years. There is a necessity and need for replacement with by new LCD TVs, amongst these 6Millions sets, there are at least 48M to 72M sets of them would go for LED Backlight units. These actions of new TV purchase will not stop for next 12 months!
Japan
LED TV becomes normalized as a standard terms for LCD TV Backlight TV in Japan when its Penetration rate climbed from 2.5% in January 2010 to 43.3% in August. Whilst the 3D TV is more than just a gadget as its penetration rate is merely 1.4% mainly due to the stringy and trivial attraction. The LED has successfully depressed the use of CCFL. The Penetration rate of CCFL was 97.1% in August 2009 dropping down to 56.7% In August of 2010. Of course, Japan is a energy and environmental sensitive country, helps to push LED as a leverage than CCFL.
At the same time, the ASP of LED TV drops vertically, a 40” model was selling at USD$4,315.00 in August 2009 down 60% in August 2010. LED TV is no longer the term for hi tech TV, instead, it is a standard feature in Japan’s consumers. As for the sales performance, Sharp is occupying 46.6%, followed by Sony, Panasonic and Toshiba..
Sony
The India TV market has big potential for flat panel TVs to grow in 2011 and beyond. Developed regions like Japan, US and Europe will complete the transition to flat panel TVs by the end of 2011 or first half of 2012, when most Analog Broadcasting System will be cut off. Although Samsung and LGE continue to be strong in emerging markets, Sony has approached the Indian flat panel TV market successfully with strong brand awareness and appropriate products for the Indian consumer. Sony increased its unit share of flat panel TVs to 27.1% in Q2’10 and took top share position in the Indian market. The total TV market in India for 2009 was around 13.8M units, making it the third-largest country market for TVs in the world, ahead of Japan and Brazil, and accounting for 37% of the Asia Pacific TV market.
Unity Opto and Epistar
With the CCFL flight back with an attractive price as leverage, original LED TV penetration expectation was 30% for 2010. According to Unity Opto ‘s (LED BLU manufacturer in Taiwan) forecast the new penetration rate is 15%-20% for 2010. Whereas Epistar (Taiwanese largest LED Chip maker) forecast will be to 20% to 25%. However Epistar would be optimistic for 2011 as Korean would be trigger launch of new model with more attractive features, and at Same Time China will be a big marker demand for LED TV. He is very optimistic to see that all year penetration rate will be touching 50% in 2011.
2011 will be the LED TV Era
LCD TV shipments in the first half of 2010 have been below expectations, but it is still possible to have a strong second half performance. Recent declines in panel prices will probably lead to low Q4 set prices, driving increases in unit demand. Even CRT had a better-than-expected result in Q2’10, as emerging markets purchased inexpensive sets for the World Cup. I believe that the Big Players like Samsung, LGE, Sony, Toshiba and Chinese band like Hisense, TCL, Konka and Skyworth, Changhong will carry on shipping out more cost effective LCD TV by end of the year, I can expect that the peak sales would be somewhere mid December to end of the year!
Next year, I think the sales if the LED TV would move up to another heights of record as more 3D featured TV and Smart TV will be available, Smart TV to be the home entertainment centre for some of the technology lovers. LED TV cost will be lowered by another 25%-30% as we can buy now. Brighter with lesser LED be more effective light transmission would be the main stream, that will be the evergreen product as a result of the latest LED technology with least power consumption, mercury free and reasonable beautiful picture quality. The 40% Reduction in number of LED usage on the BLU would be significant to cool down the heat for more assembly equipment. However, an era for LED truly penetration of 40% could be found across all sized… with 32”-40” will be the most popular size as an average. As an overall state of the LED needed to support on the BLU is sill on the positive side.
By First of December I will expect LED TV sales Slogan happened to be “Buy one get one free!” If you buy a 55” ED TV they will give you another 32” TV Free for your study room.
Summary
The BLU market momentum would get stabilized in end November and gradually regain the power for growing up till Mid 2011 unless there is some other unforeseen cause for slash.

2010 3D TV
The Avatar must be one of the best movie in the year not just of its imagination, story might not be so important but the creativity on the beautiful, colourful scene, background and the stereophonic sound and audio had made you part of the story itself; the 3D movie had been proven one of the reason of the success. Thanks to the Electronics Giant Samsung that created the market success of LED TV Q2 2009, That had already made the worlds’ Eyes Open to see the reality of the LED TV picture quality that goes with the finer resolution of the pixel of the LCD. In Last year, I still think that the 3D TV has yet come to town, After I bought a Blue ray player and insert the Disc Avatar into the tray to play, connected into my 4 years old Philips LCD HD TV., I could imagine that the Avatar must capture many people curiosity on why the Picture quality can be this GOOD!? And Yet my Philips is burning CCFL as backlight!
In the past FPD, FHD, LED and 120HZ, 200 Hz have all seen growth through marketing and sales strategy, 3D is now a few step ways from your door jumping into your living room.
This year, Korean Giant Samsung and other Global TV makers LG, Sony and Panasonic are expected to show their aggressiveness for Launch of 3D TV as a response to the applauding TV participants. Numerous 3D TV models with number more than 40 are being planned to launch in this year 2010.
Up to this moment, 3D TV is mainly applied in High-priced premium models utilizing LEDs and 240 Hz.
So what is your next home electronics Appliance purchase? I guess that should be a full LED backlit unit LED TV…it works perfectly with the Blue Rays… Even an analogue guy like I that usually goes late with these electronics toys. I had to say, that item might be a Must item in the list you purchase in the year.
Make a wise choice for the best you like in the market.
attached the sales target for 3D Tv in 2010, from Display bank data.

Toshiba has been a strong HD DVD major maker, after keeping quiet for two years watching the Korean LED TV makers got the first bite of the TV cake, announced that their Regza LED TV is unveiled in the Market of Hong Kong.

These are their good feature: Dynamic Contrast Ratio of 2,000,000:1, built in up scaling function can play Full HD output, support Dolby Volume new audio technique, and maintain an average volume when we change channel or being switching between ads of different kind. 4 sets of HDMI supporting HDMI instaport for faster connection, just 2 second after the HDMI connection, would start the movie.
There is Autoview and 200Hz, function like AGC light control with some sort of sensor in the front panel for light adjustment, 200 Hz is nothing new in the market.
There is LAN to support DLNA, can be connected to computer’s movie and music. SD and USB slot for reading JPEG file. These are not too mush a surprise as gadget, but the Picture quality talks, and this would bring some of the lost market in the Blue Ray DVD.

There is LAN to support DLNA, can be connected to computer’s movie and music. SD and USB slot for reading JPEG file. These are not too mush a surprise as gadget, but the Picture quality talks, and this would bring some of the lost market in the Blue Ray DVD.
Price of the SV650 series LED TV 46” HKD$29,990, 55” HKD$49,990
There are also ZV650 CCFL back lit unit with 200Hz and XV with CCFL Back lit unit with 100 Hz.

The Competition between Samsung and Vizio LCD TV
According to iSuppli Corp. when Vizio Inc maintained its leadership in the US LCD TV market in Q2, No.2 ranked Samsung Electronics Co Ltd closed the gap significantly as buyers gravitated toward its LED-backlit sets.
Samsung's share of US LCD TV unit shipments rose to 21.3% in Q2, up 3.5 points from 17.8% in Q2. This represented the largest increase of any LCD TV brand in the US in Q2. With its strong rise, Samsung of South Korea in Q2 cut Vizio's lead to only 0.4 percentage points, down from 3.6 points in Q1.
Samsung in Q2 was very aggressive in introducing and marketing its LED-backlit LCD TVs allowing it to boost sales of these sets. US consumers increasingly are warming up to higher-specification LCD TV models, including those using new LED-backlighting technology.
We estimate 2.4% of LCD TVs shipped in the US in Q2 used LED backlights, up from zero during the same quarter a year earlier. In mature markets like the US, while many consumers are moving up from their CRT or rear-projection, Projector TVs, an increasing number of LCD TV purchases are replacements of first-generation flat-panel sets.
Despite Samsung's surge, Vizio retained leadership in the US LCD TV market for the second consecutive quarter. US-based Vizio continues to benefit from its combination of low-cost and full-featured sets, combined with its high-volume retail channels, including Wal-Mart. Vizio seems to have found the right balance formula of price and features that appeals to many US consumers.
A lot of research predicts that global penetration of the LED-backlight technology for LCD TV panels will increase to almost 40% of all shipments in 2013, up from 3% in 2009.

How do you compare the technology of Sony and Samsung LED TV?

I have browsed Sony's webpage and found the message of some what like announcement on Sony comparison with Samsung and other brands so Called "LED TV"...
The LED TV products being whisked around lately (used by Samsung Electronics, Toshiba, Philips, LG Electronics and Vizio) are the same type of LED backlit/edge-lit LCD TV’s Sony has in their television range. The phrase LED TV is a farce – it is a term exploited by some companies to increase the status of their brands in the mindshare of average consumers out there.
It’s unfair for Sony, who truthfully advertises their various BRAVIA products as LED-backlit or edge-backlit LCDs, which some people may pass off as inferior to a LED TV. There is no difference, though.
Sony’s LED edgelit/backlit LCD’s are just as good, if not better than the competition. Check out this handy chart showing the differences on Sony models: Refer to the above illustration on Sony's HCFL, edge Lit and RGB Direct lit backlit unit.
This is true that Sony was the first one to introduce the LED Backlit unit for LCD TV in 2005, and in fact they are gorgeous and Eye catching. The case was similar as the Betamax and VHS some 30 years ago... as a result the story told us that a better system withj technical specification does not necessarily apply that the product will be accepted as best from the consumers.
Well, this is another case Samung is winning beautifully by using the terms "LED TV" as a sales and Promotion gadget... Like what SWATCH created the bit in 1987 for his limited SWATCH...
Marketing seems the most important element in such a way to make more sales, of ocurse the product should be also within certain standard of high quality!

LED TV popularity is on the Up
Sony was the first company to launch a LED-backlit LCD TV and an edge-lit LED TV – the 40-inch Bravia KLV-40ZX1M. It plans to unveil a new ZX5 range later this year with a depth of just 15.8mm. Now Sony has assigedn Foxconn as OEM for Sony LCD TV.
So Sony, used to be highly engineering technology and design are now using Taiwan manufacturing facilities for their LED TV, is this one of the way to reduce the price gap between Samsung and Sony Itself or this is one way to regain the lost market!?
Samsung LED TV
LEDs are considered less toxic than CCFL backlights because they don't use any mercury in the manufacturing process. They're extremely efficient and produce more light per watt than a traditional incandescent bulb. Crucially, they also consume about 40 percent less power compared to a conventional LCD TV.
As Yoon Boo-Keun, the President and General Manager of Samsung's Visual Display Division pointed out at IFA 2009: "If every TV in the world switched to LED, we could save 13 million kilowatts of electricity – enough to supply all 39 million households in Germany."
Samsung is currently leading the LED charge with its 6, 7 and 8-series TVs. Its top-end, 46-inch UE46B8000 LED-backlit LCD TV is only 29.9mm thick.
LED is a stop-gap technology until OLED arrivesOLED is viewed as the natural successor to LCD. The organic material used in an OLED panel emits its own light when charged, so there's no need for a separate backlight LED. But still would take a few years for the yield and production process becoming profitable and mature for commercialization.
