Enrique Gil Didn't Expect to be Part of Way Back Home

Enrique Gil didn’t expect to land a role in the movie Way Back Home, much less be paired with its lead star Kathryn Bernardo. As it is, his character was supposed to be played by Albie Casiño, who used to be Kathryn’s love team in the teleserye Mara Clara. “Hindi ko talaga inasahan na mapupunta sa akin yung role kasi ginagawa ko yung Mula Sa Puso that time at alam kong may parating akong bagong soap (Budoy). Tapos may tumawag sa akin, ang sabi, ‘Magsyu-shooting ka na in two days for the movie.’ Kaya may konting kaba kasi first time kami magkakaparehas ni Kathryn. Sana pumatok sa mga fans, sana ma-enjoy nila yung mga scenes namin together,” said Enrique in a recent interview with Push.com.ph.

The 19-year-old cutie further shared that he owes a lot to director Wenn Deramas who gave him his first major break on TV.

As for his love life, Enrique insisted that he’s not pursuing anyone at the moment. He also refuted previous reports linking him to Erich Gonzales. Tapos lumabas kami as a group ng iba naming kasamahan nung patapos na yung show.

Unlike other celebrity couples, Enrique claimed that he wouldn’t keep his relationship a secret if he truly has a girlfriend. “Kapag nagkaroon ako ng girlfriend at the right time, hindi ko ide-deny. Paano kung wrong time? I want to be proud of it.”

Is he affected by the fact that Erich is projecting a sexier image in her latest soap, Maria La Del Barrio? “Ewan ko, I’m not in the right position para magselos. It's the management’s choice, so okay lang. Hindi naman siya nagpaalam sa akin. Hindi naman kailangan. Tsaka lately, wala na talaga kaming communication,” he added.

Kathryn Bernardo Hopes Fans Will Support Her Pairing With Enrique Gil

Fresh from the success of their primetime teleserye Mara Clara, Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes are now headlining a movie. The two young actresses star in the new Star Cinema offering entitled Way Back Home. The film is scheduled for nationwide release on August 17, but as early as now fans of Kathryn and Julia are very much excited to head to the theaters.

But there are also rumors that there are some fans who got very disappointed when it was confirmed Kathryn would be paired with Enrique Gil in the movie rather than her original leading man in Mara Clara, Albie Casiño.

Albie was originally part of Way Back Home as Kathryn’s leading man together with the late AJ Perez who was to be paired with Julia. When AJ died, Sam Concepcion was chosen to take over the role. As to why Albie was replaced by Enrique, Star Cinema management explained that they just want to experiment with different combinations for Kathryn and Julia. There was no mention if it had anything to do with controversies hounding Albie at the moment involving now pregnant ex-girlfriend Andi Eigenmann.

During the press conference for Way Back Home, Kathryn admitted that she felt a bit nervous thinking if fans will still support the movie even with a new leading man.

Kathryn lost touch with Albie when Mara Clara wrapped up, until last July 31 when they ran into each other at the Star Magic Games.

For Kathryn, doing Way Back Home could’ve been easier if she had Albie with her.

She further confessed that at first she felt shy towards Enrique, but eventually they easily became good friends and both found it comfortable doing scenes together. So, kapag nagte-take na, okay na kami.

According to director Jerry Sineneng, Kathryn and Enrique were able to forge a palpable onscreen chemistry in Way Back Home. “Sobrang kilig silang dalawa.

Enrique Gil and Sam Concepcion Don't Mind Being Second Choice

Young actors Enrique Gil and Sam Concepcion said they are grateful to be a part of Star Cinema's newest film, "Way Back Home."

Gil and Concepcion replaced Albie Casiño and the late AJ Perez, respectively, as the leading men of Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes.

The 2 young actors said they do not mind being second choice for the film.

"[I am] Very grateful and thankful for this project, siyempre [kasi] first time kong makatrabaho sina Julia at Kathryn. We did 'Shout Out!' before pero acting-wise, ngayon lang kami nagkatrabaho so it's a very different and wonderful experience," Concepcion said.

"It's a big role 'yung pino-portray namin ni Enrique so we just give our all and best in the movie and hopefully magustuhan ng tao."

For his part, Gil said, "Super happy po at super thankful [ako] sa Star Cinema na kami ang pinili, kasi wala talaga akong alam sa previous leading men. I just got a call na 'hey, I want you to do this movie,' so 'yun po, very grateful po."

Jerry Lopez Sineneng, director of "Way Back Home," said it was management's decision to replace Casiño, who was rumored to be the father of Andi Eigenmann's baby.

"I think I'm not in a position to talk about it, management decision po.

"Way Back Home" will hit theaters on August 17.

Sam Concepcion and Enrique Gil Join Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes in Star Cinema Movie

The breakthrough performances of Sam Concepcion and Enrique Gil in the youth-oriented program “Good Vibes” have paved the way for the launch of their movie career.

Sam and Enrique were recently announced as the partners of teen royalties Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes in a film for Star Cinema.

The two are shoo-ins for the plum roles as they have already established themselves as brilliant actors in “Good Vibes” where they play half-brothers Marc and Troy, respectively.

Furthermore, the two have also developed a clout among youth viewers who are either amazed by their superb acting and dancing skills or are drawn by their good looks and charisma.

Aside from Sam and Enrique, the program has also provided a boost to the career of Arron Villaflor who celebrated his birthday last July 5. Arron first showed his more mature and “sexier” image in “Good Vibes” where his character Franco is in a relationship with an older girl.

Arron shared that there’s still much he wants to do in his career. “I wish more success in my career, like someday I hope to be able to choreograph a dance number in ASAP Rocks. It will be like Good Vibes and ASAP all in one” he said.

A year older, the young actor said he is a fighter now, and he was inspired by his character to be so. “I learned from Franco to fight for what is right and not give up whatever the struggles and circumstances that come,” Arron stated.

Meanwhile, Arron and company continue to bring kilig vibes this Sunday (July 10). Troy will follow the suggestion of Danilo (Joe Vargas) and Jhong (Eslove Briones) to use magic in courting Geleen (Linn Oeymo). Monique (Coleen Garcia) will also witness a tender moment between her ex-boyfriend Marc and Ara (Yen Santos).

The Jaevon team-up will raise the ante with their own romantic moment. Spencer (James Reid) will try to help Maribeth (Devon Seron) hide from her mom by pulling her close to him, setting them just inches away from each other.

Will the first on-screen kiss of James and Devon finally happen? Find out on “Good Vibes” this Sunday (July 10), after “ASAP Rocks” on ABS-CBN.

Boys of Good Vibes Reveal How They Get the Girls

Young heartthrobs Sam Concepcion, Enrique Gil, James Reid, and Ivan Dorschner are feeling extra inspired and romantic with the love stories they get to be part of in the top-rating youth oriented program “Good Vibes” on ABS-CBN.

In an interview, television’s hottest male teen stars held nothing back as they reveal how they make the girls fall in love, in real life.

Sam, who plays Marc in the show, said he shares his character’s persistence and determination when pursuing a girl. However, this doesn’t mean he goes out of his way to try to impress her.

“I just be myself. I think the best way to catch a girl’s attention is if you just be yourself and say things from the heart,” he said.

In the program, Marc is still trying to make it up to his ex-girlfriend Monique, played by Coleen Garcia. On the side, he gets a little distracted after his friend Ara (Yen Santos) admitted her feelings for him.

Enrique, meanwhile, still prefers asking the girl out first for dinner dates. He said he is not so much of a “flowers” guy, but he likes giving memorable gifts like a necklace, ring, or bracelet.

If the girl’s parents are strict, he said this is what should be done. “If I were to spend time with her, it would be with her family,” he shared.

Enrique’s character Troy is set to showcase his courtship skills as he begins to woo Geleen (Linn Oeymo). He also decided to remain best friends with Maribeth (Devon Seron), who is being “cornered” by not one, but two guys.

One of them is Gab, played by Ivan Dorschner. Ivan said his style is different from his character, and more like Gab’s rival, Spencer (James Reid). “Sinisigurado namin ang sincerity namin para less chance tayo magkakamali,” he said.

The hunky former Pinoy Big Brother housemate added he knows there’s a possibility for him to fall for a girl when they always have interesting conversations. “I call it M3, ‘Malay Mo Ma-develop,” he revealed.

James, meanwhile, does not believe in courtship and serenading girls before they start hanging-out. The Australian born and raised looker said he isn’t like Spencer who will resort to almost anything to get the girl’s attention.

“My style is very chilled. Usually, I only give gifts if they are meaningful to the girl. However, I like having a sweet beginning to a relationship,” he explained.

Witness their alter egos work their ways to their girls’ hearts in the program, where more plots are set to open as the characters continue to grow up and encounter different experiences.

Marc and Monique will share a dramatic moment, as the former hints of finally letting go after trying to get Monique back. Troy, meanwhile, gets to be closer to Geleen as she jumps ship to his crew, the Bustamoves for the Pilipinas Dance Challenge.

Maribeth will then discover Ara’s secret that will drive the two closer. With Marc and Spencer getting into the picture, will this little secret finally be exposed?

Stay tuned for all the kilig vibes you can handle on “Good Vibes” this Sunday (July 3), after “ASAP Rocks” on ABS-CBN.

Is Sam Concepcion and Coleen Garcia's Closeness Making Enrique Gil Jealous?

“Sina Monique and Marc, napaka-emosyunal nang relasyon bilang dating mag-on.
