LG + THX means one thing, Pure Awesomeness

LG has recently released the emperor of 3D LED TVs from prison, the LW9800. This 55 inch Nano Full LED TV is the World’s First 3D TV that is certified by THX (out of ALL 3D TVs including passive/active). This is huge… We’re not talking our ordinary local movie reviewer, THX has reviewed hundreds and thousands of movies on hundreds and thousands of TVs from the top experts in their profession, no explanation needed.

What’s so interesting about this particular TV compared to the previous passive TVs by LG is that this TV is Full array Nano LED which means, the brights will be brighter and the blacks will be blacker.  LG claims this stunning new display holds the record for the highest contrast ratio, set at 10,000,000:1…unbelievable. This TV is also rated at 480hz, which virtually eliminates any type of motion blur. The 3D interface is pretty much the same from previous LW series except with certain new additions such as Amazon Instant Video. Aside from all the jaw-dropping specs, the design is gorgeous.  This ultra slim LED TV has one of the most beautiful designs I have seen yet. The TV actually looks really nice when its turn off as well. A huge step up from the LW6500 thats for sure.  I’m ordering one as soon as I finish writing this.

LG 3D TV and Cinema 3D glasses under attack?

It seems like the big dogs in the TV business, Royal Philips Electronics, Sharp Corporation, TCL Corporation and Toshiba Corporation are planning to promote a new standard for wireless active-shutter 3D technology. LG and Vizio will not be on board for the “globalization” of 3D glasses.

It was announced today (Tuesday, Aug. 30) that Philips, Sharp, TCL and Toshiba have expressed support for the initiative announced earlier this month for which competing titans Panasonic, Samsung, Sony, and XPAND have agreed to work together on the development and licensing of Bluetooth-enabled radio frequency (RF) system 3D active-shutter glasses technology, including RF system protocols between consumer 3D active shutter glasses and 3D displays such as televisions, personal computers and projectors, as well as 3D theaters with XPAND active shutter glasses. The standardization will also include several types of infrared (IR) system protocols between 3D active shutter glasses and 3D displays, ranging from the protocols jointly developed by Panasonic and XPAND 3D to the proprietary protocols of Samsung and Sony. LG to present 47WV30 LED TV with super thin bezel

LG Electronics will introduce its latest creation,  the 47-inch LED display with super narrow bezel at ISE 2011 in Amsterdam.
The 47WV30 display boasts 1366×768 resolution 700cd/m^2 brightness, 1500:1 contrast ratio and utilize LED BLU technology . Its seam size is just 6.9 mm which allows it to be connected almost seamlessly with other displays for more expansive picture. LG also said that the new monitor can display “crystal clear images outdoors”, even in brightness as high as 4,000 lux, has low energy use and low maintenance costs, makes it “the perfect video wall solution”

ISE 2011 will run from February 1 to 3 at the Amsterdam RAI in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Philips reveals Cinema 21:9 Gold Series HDTV

Philips expands its ultra wide HDTV family with the new Cinema 21:9 Gold Series which offers a comfortable 3D viewing  and “will make every night a premiere at home.”
The new 50-inch Cinema 21:9 Gold series feature Full HD LED, 100Hz and Philips’ powerful Pixel Precise HD picture processing engine, response time of only 2ms, along with integrated Wi-Fi, USB recording and two-sided Ambilight Spectra 2. The 21:9 aspect ratio TV display movies in their authentic format and present them without black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. The TV features advanced 3D polarized screen and brings 3D world  into your  home using passive 3D glasses. Other feature included is the real-time 2D to 3D conversion, that Philips explains – “your entire movie collection – even old black-and-white classics – can seamlessly jump from the screen.” The 3D depth can be adjusted, so you can choose the image depth that suits the on-screen content or your personal preference.

The Cinema 21:9 Gold series feature Philips’ Smart TV services that provides easy access to the internet, will allow you to check what’s going on Facebook and Twitter, as well streaming music, photos and videos from your tablet, smart phone or laptop, plus online movie rentals and also will let you control your TV using your smart phone or tablet. Other feature is the Multiview that allows comfortable viewing of multiple content sources at once so you can watch a TV program and keep up with the latest sports results via Net TV. For the gamers Philips integratse a special 3D gaming mode which allows each player simultaneously sees his or her view expand to fill the entire TV screen.

Sharp AQUOS Quattron LE830 Series TV models now available

Sharp has released their AQUOS Quattron LE830 Series HDTV which features company’s edge-lit LED X-Gen LCD panels and Quattron Quad Pixel Technology(adds dedicated yellow sub-pixel), have integrated WiFi, DLNA support and offering CinemaNow, Netflix and VUDU streaming. The series is available in four in four screen size, 40-, 46-, 52- and 60-inches.
According to Sharp Quad Pixel Plus tech enables the reproduction of colors that have been difficult to portray using conventional LCD displays and allows more light to pass through to the panel. The HDTVs have slim and narrow bezel design and are equipped with four HDMI inputs for multiple connections.  The smaller, 40-inch model AQUOS Quattron LC-40LE830U will cost you $1,299.99, the 46-inch LC-46LE830U has an MSRP of $1,499.99, the 52-inch LC-52LE830U is offered for $1,899.99, and the biggest 60-inch LC-60LE830U has an MSRP of $2,799.99.

BenQ reveals Benq 42-5000 and 46-5000 LCD TVs

BenQ extends it lineup of LCD TV with two new models – the 42-inch V42-5000 and 46-inch V46-5000 models. Both TV’s boast 1080p Full HD resolution, Senseye Technology, and 24p Real Cinema Mode.
The LCD TVs feature a clean, simple design with a pair of 10W “invisible speakers”, which are located beneath the screen, hidden from view. The TV’s  have a contrast ratios of 5,000:1(V42-5000) and 6,000:1(V46-5000), feature BenQ’s own Senseye Human Vision Technology – a proprietary image enhancement engine that mimics the human eye and “enhances the color, clarity and contrast of video contents and smoothes out quick images through motion optimization to produce fuller, richer and more detailed images”. They also come with 24P Real Cinema mode, which adds duplicate frames to reduce unnatural artifacts when you play 24P encoded content through HDMI.

The V42-5000 and V46-5000 are equipped with three HDMI ports, 1 component, 2 composite, S-video, D-Sub ports, and a USB port which also allows you to playback movies, music and view photos.

Bang & Olufsen’s BeoVision 10 LCD TV family gets 32-inch version

The Bang & Olufsen’s  BeoVision 10 LCD TV series gets a new sibling in 32-inch version – the BeoVision 10-32. It is based on the same chassis as the 40” and the 46” versions, but with  a smaller scale.
The BeoVision 10-32 has high-gloss polished aluminium frame and includes a removable front fabric in a range of colours, while the rear part is available in either black or white. It has Full HD with an edge-type LED backlight panel with brightness of 450 cd/m2, contrast ratio of 5000:1(typ) and 6 msec. response time (grey to grey). It also includes a active, two-way loudspeaker system and allows to connect two extra loudspeakers and a subwoofer.

BeoVision 10-32 offer a wide range of placement options, including motorized stands for floor and table placement, two different brackets for placement close to the wall, and one wall bracket that allows for manual turn and tilt functionality. Connectivity include 3 x HDMI, VGA, SPDIF, Y-Pb-Pr,  Master Link and DVB-HD module.

Toshiba’s new Power TV series have built-In batteries

Toshiba today announced a new LED Full HD TV family, called Power TV that are equipped with build-in rechargeable batteries.

The new Power TV line includes 24 and 32-inch models and Toshiba claims that are the world’s first LED TVs with integrated battery back-up. The new PC 1 range will be useful in areas where power supply can be uncertain and their rechargeable battery can provide two hours of power, “long enough for the broadcast of a full soccer game.”

Other features included in the new Power TV line are the “Auto Signal Booster” that improves signal sensitivity and allows viewing in areas with weak signal strengths and the “Auto View”, which optimizes picture settings according to the ambient lighting condition for greater viewing pleasure and lower electricity consumption.

Sony BRAVIA KDL22PX300 with build in Playstation 2

Sony’s Playstation 2 is still here, or here, in the new BRAVIA KDL22PX300 HDTV which is available in the UK for now,  priced at £200.
Sony’s KDL22PX300 boasts 22-inch display with 1366 x 768 resolution, four HDMI ports, three USB ports and two optical audio outputs. Moreover the LCD TV features Sony’s BRAVIA Internet Video service along with the necessary ethernet port for that and of course the build-in PlayStation 2 which not only gives you the chance to unleash the Kratos’ fury, but also gives you and DVD and CD player as well.

BenQ has announced the release of their E-Series LED TV, featuring high-gloss, crystal black Reflection Defense Panel which reduces the reflections and distractions from different light sources in the room and promising to provide 27.3% more contrast in comparisons with other TVs.

The Full HD 1080P E-Series TVs TVs features ultra-slim design and are equipped with BenQ’s LED backlight technology offering dynamic contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1. They are based on 10-bit panels and incorporate the company’s own Senseye Human Vision Technology to provide viewers with “deeper, richer and truer to life” visuals.
