The Galaxy Tab runs on Android™ 2.2 (Froyo) and features a 7-inch TFT display with 1024 x 600 WSVGA resolution. The lightweight and sleek device weighs only 13 ounces, is 12 millimeters thin and easily fits in a jacket pocket or purse. The Galaxy Tab includes 16GB of internal storage and has microSD expansion for up to 32 GB of additional storage. The Tab also supports Adobe® Flash® Player 10.1 to deliver an enhanced content experience with access to thousands of Web sites packed with complex Flash-based applications and content. The Galaxy Tab’s Flash content support includes games, animations, rich Internet applications (RIAs), data presentations and visualizations, ecommerce, video, music and more. The Galaxy Tab is also designed with a rear-facing 3 megapixel camera for taking pictures on-the-go, as well as a front-facing 1.3 megapixel camera and camcorder for video chat. |

Samsung Takes To The Skies With Virgin Atlantic
Samsung Electronics UK has today announced a collaboration with, Virgin Atlantic Airways, to launch the new Galaxy Tab atVirgin Atlantic’s flagship Clubhouse at Heathrow Airport. The brand alliance will enable Virgin Atlantic customers to be amongst the first people to experience the latest Samsung technology, including the new Galaxy Tab, which launches in the UK from November 1st.

IFA, Berlin, September 3rd 2010: Imagination Technologies, a leading multimedia and communications technologies company, announces that the new Samsung Galaxy Tab is fully supported by Imagination’s POWERVR Insider SDK for Android.
Developers will be able to use the SDK as part of their application development workflow to enable stunning high-quality and high-performance graphics on the new tablet which is built around the Samsung SC5C110 application processor containing POWERVR SGX540 graphics acceleration technology.

So the world woke this morning to the teaser of the Samsung Galaxy Tab, with its has anyone got any fantastic apps they are keen to develop for the Tab? I'd love to see some ideas. I am thinking about all the added functionality the extra screen real estate could bring....
