Japanese automaker Nissan Motor India Private Ltd (NMIPL) is going to launch its mid-sized sedan named ‘SUNNY’. The car will hit the market in October to coincide with the festive season.
The Nissan Sunny comes initially with a 1.5 litre 110 Bhp 1500cc dCi petrol engine which will generate maximum torque of 139 Nm and later with a diesel engine. Nissan SUNNY is based on the popular V- (Versatile) platform.
It made its global debut at the 8th China (Guangzhou) International Automobile Exhibition in December 2010.The petrol variant of the car will be manufactured at the Renault Nissan alliance Orgadam facility in Chennai.
The Nissan Sunny will be available in following seven shades: White, Red, Beige, Black, Blue, Copper and Silver.It comes at least in three petrol variants for a start - XE, XL and XV.The base variant is expected to feature power steering, air-conditioner, driver airbag, power windows and central locking system. It is expected that base variant of petrol will be priced around seven lakh rupee.
The Sunny will have 85% of it parts sourced locally. The sedan will compete with Hyundai Verna, Ford Fiesta, Honda City and Maruti Suzuki SX4, among others.
